<=Previous Page

Chicago – Glacier National Park, Montana Road Trip Day 4 The Plan:

I thank you God for this most amazing day, Drive out of Billings, early on this day to witness the vast country-side of Montana in-person verses on the big screen! Allow yourself time to pull over and admire the ranches and animals which is most you see most of the way.

The route to Saint Mary, on the east end of glacier national park is about 6 hours. So, wake up early today and head out at day break if possible. You will not regret it. Great Falls is good place to grab something to eat or to-go. As you near the park you will see breathtaking scenery. After checking in the hotel at Saint Mary’s (list of three recommendations), if you did indeed leave early you will have an hour or so to spare, check out Many Glaciers for great views or more lakes, rivers, a dam, and waterfalls right from the roadside. Call it a night at your lodge. Because you are so wonderfully in the company of nature here, I like to stay in a lodge/hotel that compensates with opposite and has phone, TV, internet and less mosquito and a restaurant on site! Again the link of hotel recommendations are above, there are about three options in Saint Mary’s. Tip for next day = > catch SUNRISE, and at least take one hike!
