I bought the (#TheChicagoManualOfStyle #CMOS) The Chicago Manual of Style because I had three books to edit. The shiny blue 17th edition arrived in the mail, and I hastily opened it. The solution to my editing traumas lay here. But I yanked the book shut at once. It was too hard! Too big. So technical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the fighter I am, I promised to refer to it during editing because it contained everything under the sun\u2014syntax guidelines, grammar tips, publishing tips, legal jargon (to my untrained mind) around copyrights\u2014to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the thick wealth of knowledge remained sealed and tucked away on my bookshelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
